About NBA Gauntlet

NBA Gauntlet is five rounds a day. Each round puts fifteen NBA players or teams on screen, drawn from ten seasons of per-game leaders and team wins, and asks for the top three of a ranking.

How to play

1. Read the ranking: which stat, and which season.
2. Everything you could pick is already on screen. Only the order is hidden, so choose the names you think rank highest.
3. You get four picks, and your best three count.

Scoring

Each pick is scored on where it sits among the names not yet picked. The best one remaining always earns full marks, 33.3 points, and anyone lower down still earns part of that. A round is out of 100 and a day out of 500.

Tips

• Take the clear leader first. With fifteen on screen there is often one name that stands out, and it locks in full marks.
• Read the season. A team that dominated one year can be ordinary the next.
• Use your fourth pick on the closest call. Torn between two names for third? Pick both, because only your best three count.

Good to know

A new board goes up every day at midnight Eastern, the same for everybody. Your first finished run goes on the leaderboard, and past days stay playable in the archive.
